This Summer we are planning to cheer up Thames Ditton with a variety of local initiatives. We are putting up the flags in the High Street, in honour of the Queen’s Birthday, and our clever Thames Ditton Crafters are making bunting to decorate the shops. We are also working on making Thames Ditton Station a prettier place for commuters and visitors by planting out troughs and planters outside the ticket office and along the platforms for our Thames Ditton In Bloom project.

Our fantastic local Men In Sheds are busy making our wooden troughs and planters, but we could do with some more help with watering, planting and gardening. This is where you can help. We’ve set a target of 21 April (the Queen’s birthday) for Thames Ditton station to be flower-show ready, so if you’ve got some time during the week of Monday 18 April, even if it’s only a couple of hours, please let us know. Thereafter we’ll need help to keep the display blooming, so if you’ve got a bit of time to assist with that, even better.

If you’re happy to come on board Thames Ditton In Bloom please let us have your contact details, a phone number and email ideally, so we can get in touch. In the future, we are hoping that Thames Ditton In Bloom will take root, to become a wider flowering initiative, so the Summer of 2016 could be the start of something really exciting.
