The TD & WG Residents' Association
Nature & Climate Festival
is back for its fourth year on 10-12th October.
Founded in 2022 to encourage local residents to live more sustainably, the Festival’s trademark has always been inspirational talks, hands-on activities and entertainment, to celebrate the world around us and remind ourselves how important it is to protect it.
Highlights this year include talks on:
- Garden Plants for Health and Wellbeing
- The Natural History of Elmbridge and its Commons
- A mobile tech recycling station
- 'Know Your Flood Risk' drop-in session
- Launch of the new Festival sustainable living handbook 'Live Life Better'
- Litter picks
- A pop-up Repair Cafe
- 'We Are the Voice' childrens environmental choir
- Create a Creature with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation
- A Foraging Walk
.... and more
Festival co-founder, local councillor Gill Coates says: “Most events are free of charge. We try to offer something for everyone and we’ve never been about preaching and static stands. It’s all about coming together as a community, sharing experiences and having fun. In the past we’ve built a solar panel, created bug hotels, dyed clothes with flowers and had a whale bath! This year I’m sure the new Foraging Walk will be popular. Who doesn’t like the idea of free food?”
The events all take place at Vital Village in Mercer Close, Thames Ditton (opposite Dittons Library). The full programme will be posted on www.vitalvillage.co.uk and www.residents-association.com. Most events are free of charge.
