Local transport consultation concluded by Surrey County Council.

From 29 and 30 August 2015 there will be changes to some local bus services in Surrey. These changes were drawn up following two wide-spread public consultations in which thousands of residents and stakeholders had their say.

For details of all of these changes, please see the attached booklet, which can also be viewed online at surreycc.gov.uk/transportreview. Paper copies of the booklet will be available from early August in libraries and local council offices in all areas of Surrey where changes are planned, as well as on all affected bus services. New timetables will be available from late July and during August online at surreycc.gov.uk/buses and traveline.info/se as well as via bus operator websites and leaflets. Where applicable, Surrey County Council’s Bus Guide booklets will be updated to reflect the changes, and new timetables will be available at bus stops from late August 2015.

These changes are being made as part of the first phase of the council’s local transport review, which aims to secure or strengthen the local transport services that residents rely on most in the face of huge funding pressures. The changes take into account feedback from over 6,800 residents and stakeholders about which local transport services are most important to them, and the views of over 1,500 residents and stakeholders on the proposed changes. Some of the original proposals have been modified for the better, as the council has listened and acted where there were strong local concerns. There are also a number of improvements and increased travel choice in some places.
