Surrey County Council have advised that Weston Park, which runs off Weston Green Road near the Milbourne Pond green, will be closed for one day during the period 23-27 July to carry out road repairs and resurfacing.  

 

The full text of the notice is shown below:- 

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXERCISE OF ITS POWERS UNDER SECTION 14 (2) OF The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of Weston Park (D6968) Thames Ditton as extends from its junction with Weston Green Road to outside property number 52 Weston Park. The alternative route for vehicles will be via Weston Road, Hampton Court Way and Weston Green Road or this route in reverse order.

This Notice is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway patching and/or resurfacing in the length of road described in this Notice. This Notice will commence on the 23rd July 2018 for a period of 5 days however works are anticipated to take place over one day of this Notice. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access within that length of Weston Park (D6968) by residents and emergency services will be maintained under direction of a banksman. All other vehicular traffic and HGVs will be required to follow the signed diversion routes.

The prohibition referred to above will not apply: -

  • in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform;
  • in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police;
  • to any vehicle in connection with the works.
