Cabinet for Elmbridge Borough Council (EBC) has approved the granting of a five- year lease to a Community Interest Company (CIC), Vital Village, to develop a community-hub focusing on sustainability, health and well-being and community gatherings.  A CIC is a special form of social enterprise which must have community benefit as its focus and any profits must be reinvested. EBC has said that it believes this will give local residents a much more exciting and thriving village hub  than the current model of a centre for the over-50s, which has only ever opened on Monday and Thursday since it opened in 2010.

This decision was subsequently confirmed at the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

We look forward to seeing Vital Village's the plans for future.
