Post by: BlueSky on November 16, 2013, 08:19:50 PM
Please can someone tell me when this path will be open?

Very scary afternoon thought some element of our house was on fire.
Heavy smoke and burning plastic smell hanging over the high street.
Who is burning waste material close to the village centre and why?

As I understand it, the path will be reopened when the works on the new studio/workshop at the angle in the path are finished, which we all hope is soon.

Welcome to the forum, Charlie.

I haven't heard other reports - Did you call Elmbridge Borough Council to report it?

Urban Matrix must of finished that small building by now!

I drove down station road today and pleased to see it had cones but then I turned the corner past the tennis club and that street was extremely packed / dangerous.

Will the local authority offer season tickets for parking at Ashley Road??  These commuters should either be treated with a carrot or stick or both, the stick will need to be yellow lines on both these roads and maybe Speer road upto colets.

I don't want to keep harping on about Richmond but the residents there have their own allocated spaces and yellow lines inbetween others. Their small cottages that don't have parking all seem to have a parking space for each property, I think the way it works there is in some residents bays you can park and paying into a machine during the day.  Although I did struggle a little to find a parking spot the other night a little, if you know where to go, you can normally find spaces there. We are actually lucky compared to them, there big community car park by the rivers also charge in the evenings, Ashley road doesn't.

Station road folk - is this (the cones) for Gas works or a watch and see survey, if so I suggest you need to also put cones down Weston Green Road to see if there is further behaviour change. When I can find a space at Ashley Road car-park I will be at last happy at the moment it's only 5% full!

The cones were a complete surprise to the residents of Station Road.  There has been no explanation for them being there and, as far as I can tell, but I am not in the house during the day, there has been no work down Station Road since they were put there.

When I have been in the house, the road has been so much more peaceful.  Like the "old days".  I wonder what other Station Road residents think about the road as it has been this week.  I would definitely vote for double yellow lines now.
