Various dates in June Hampton Court Palace Gardens between the Tiltyard Cafe and Rose Garden (pubic area) Plant Sales of excellent bedding and container plants surplus to Palace requirements, very good value at 50p a small one, £1 a large one, hanging baskets £6. Proceeds to the Palace Gardens, and baskets to Great Ormond St Hospital. 11.00 – 15.30 – unless very wet! Dates: Tuesday, 18 June, Wednesday, 19 June, Thursday, 20 June, Saturday, 22 June, Sunday, 23 June. You can park in the car park for £1.50 an hour, stroll round the gardens, buy some plants and head back feeling like Carol Klein or Monty Don.
Thursday 20 June 18.00 / 19.00 A visit to St Raphael's Church, Portsmouth Road, Surbiton with the Esher District local History Society at 7 pm, preceded optionally by a boat trip provided by Parrs Boats, Kingston leaving from Parrs pier Queens Promenade at 6pm. No need to book. Cost £6 (£5 seniors) for the river trip.
Sunday 30 June 13.00 - 17.00 The Secret Gardens of Weston Green Ten gardens from the home of Weston Green's very own Garden Gnome (Gerald Smith) in The Woodlands to The Newlands bordering Thames Ditton. Refreshments: teas available at All Saints.' Proceeds will help fund Christmas lights for Weston Green, and perhaps one or two other worthy ends. Tickets in advance, £5 adults, kids free. Friday 19 July from 19.30 - 22.30 St Christopher’s Church, Hinchley Wood Summer Ball banquet followed by dancing to the Trio “Diamond” who play music from the 1960’s until the present day. Saturday 20 July 10.00 - 18.00 Dittons Skiff and Punting Club, Albany Cottage, Queens Road Hampton Court and Dittons Amateur Regatta 125th anniversary of this traditional regatta. Includes special events to mark the anniversary - for example, a recreation of the first ever Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race held in 1829 using the replicas of the original racing craft. Open to members of the Public to come and spectate. Entrance is by programme which will be a special souvenir edition @ £2 and these can either be purchased on the gate or will be on sale from about one month in advance at The Albany next door. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
