Parker Of The Week
There is a great deal of illegal or inconsiderate parking that lends impetus to residents' arguments for more parking restrictions. These instances were all easily sampled within a short walk, although not so easily as on Monday and Tuesday - maybe people are wising up to the camera!... number plates have been obscured in these online pics.

wednesday 1 wednesday 2 wednesday 3
Ashley Rd TD junction with Harvest Lane - On a junction, on an area marked as no parking by solid white lines. Highway Code 217 - 'do not park within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction' . The parking on both sides of Ashley Rd constricts the access (as you can see) preventing the dustcart, large deliveries vans etc. from getting through and at least two parked cars have had their front suspensions snapped off as their wheels were sticking out into the road. Now whose fault is that?! Old School Sq TD - junction with Speer Rd. Big 4 x 4 on the kerb, and on a solid white line. A mother picking up her child from the Infants' School (surely they're all within walking distance in that catchment area, aren't they?) St Nicholas Rd. On the kerb, and on a double yellow line!. A mother picking up her child from the Infants' School.
wednesday 4 wednesday 5 wednesday 6
Old School Sq TD - junction with Speer Rd. On the kerb, and on a solid white line. A mother taking her child to the Infants' School Basingfield Rd - van parked across access to house. High St TD - This is not really a 'parker of the week' entry, but to illustrate the congestion that occurs because of nose-to-tail parking along Watts Rd, all towards the High St end.
